The Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan, has sworn in nine out of the 16 lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to a report by The Nation, Dawan swore in the APC lawmakers in the early hours of Friday in Jos.
A member from Jos East was also appointed Deputy Speaker of the Assembly at the event.
Dewan had previously declined directives to inaugurate the lawmakers, citing the judgement of the Supreme Court.
THEWILL recalls that the apex court had faulted the judgement of the Court of Appeal that sacked the 16 lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division, also dismissed the application by the sacked 16 members of the PDP seeking a review of the judgement that sacked them following the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed Governor Caleb Muftwang as Governor of the State.
The Court, which dismissed the application for review of the judgement, also awarded N8 million to each of the 16 APC members involved in the suit.
