PMS Ex-Depot Price Unchanged – Dangote Refinery Refutes Price Hike

DANGOTE REFINERY

May 06, (THEWILL) — Dangote Refinery has refuted reports of an increase in the depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), stating that its ex-depot price remains unchanged.

The clarification comes against the backdrop of earlier reports which indicated that the refinery had raised its depot price from N1,275 to N1,350 per litre, representing a N75 increase.

However, in an official statement issued on Wednesday, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited clarified that there has been no adjustment to its PMS pricing, contrary to earlier market indications suggesting a hike to N1,350 per litre.

“The price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) remains the same,” the company stated, emphasising that its ex-depot price has not been altered.

The refinery noted that by maintaining its current pricing, it is reaffirming its commitment to stabilising Nigeria’s domestic energy market and cushioning the broader economy against external shocks.

It added that the decision reflects ongoing efforts to absorb prevailing cost pressures, moderate inflationary trends, and ensure uninterrupted product supply despite global uncertainties.

“The refinery, by sustaining its current prices, is reaffirming its commitment to supporting stability in the domestic energy market and cushioning the wider economy against external shocks,” the statement read.

Dangote Refinery further reiterated its dedication to the steady supply of high-quality petroleum products to the Nigerian market, while aligning with national objectives of price stability and energy security.
