
September 18, (THEWILL) – As part of a follow-up on the clampdown on bandits and their activities in Sankera axis of Benue state, officers of Operation Zenda JTF, have trailed and arrested some members of a viscous syndicate, led by one Anyogor Mnguor and Terhemen Mzaga, also known as “Fullfire”.
According to the police, these gang members specialise in allegedly kidnapping, attacking and killing members of the public, with the most recent being the gruesome murder of innocent people at Akpuna community on July 21, 2023, in Ukum local government area of the state.
A Statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sewuese Anene, on Monday, said during the operations, listed some suspects arrested including Ordoonku Sunday Kusuv, Msughter Nyieyem, Terkaa Tayough and Liambee Adeadegh, also known as Don-Konyo.
According to the statement, Nine rounds of 7.62x39mm live ammunition were recovered from them, adding that one Sonter Felix Tyozughul, was also arrested in connection with the kidnap of Dr Asema Msuega, a resident doctor at General Hospital, Ukum, on July 23, 2023, who had been released.
The PPRO said the suspects have confessed to having been actively involved in the crimes in the state.
