December 27, (THEWILL) – Police in Ogun State have arrested a 32-year-old Fridge technician for allegedly stabbing one Damilare Oladipupo to death in the Agbado area of the state.

The suspect, Toheeb Akanji, a.k.a T.cash was arrested on December 25, 2021

His arrest follows a distress call received by the police at Agbado divisional headquarters at about 12:30 a.m On Saturday from one Oluomo.

Oluomo reported that one Oladipupo Babatunde, 42, a.k.a no story, who came to the Blue roof hotel in Adiyan Gas Line to celebrate with the hotel owner had been stabbed to death by an unknown person.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Sunday.

Oyeyemi said that upon report, the DPO Agbado division, CSP Kehinde Kuranga, quickly mobilised his men and moved to the scene.

“On getting there, it was discovered that the deceased was lured out of the hotel and stabbed severally on the chest, hand and face.”

“It was also discovered that he struggled with his assailant which made him to seize the cardigan worn by the suspect as well as the knife he used to stab him.” he added

The Police PRO said that the deceased was rushed to the hospital where the doctor confirmed him dead.

He said that the DPO and his men embarked on an intelligence based investigation, and at about 5:00 p.m on Saturday, 25th of December 2021, the suspect was arrested.

Oyeyemi said the suspect on interrogation confessed to the killing, blaming the cause on the devil’s hand work

The PPRO explained that the suspect came to the hotel to find out who beat and injured one of his boys, but on getting there, the deceased accosted him and started quarrelling with him and in the process he took out a knife and stabbed him.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.
