October 22, (THEWILL) – Police in Ogun State have arrested a 28-year-old house wife, Yemisi Adebowale, for allegedly attempting to murder her husband, Idowu Adebowale, by inflicting a severe injury on his penis at Oko-Oba, Ogijo Area of the state.
The suspect was arrested when her 31-year-old husband came to the police station at Ogijo and reported that his wife attempted to kill him by inflicting injury on his penis.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Sp Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
Odutola said that the victim told the officers at Ogijo station that on October 15, 2024, at about 4:30 am, his wife, Yemisi, used a sharp object to cut severe injury on his private part during a minor disagreement.
She explained that when the man showed the male officers on duty his private organ, a cut injury was seen close to the tip of his penis.
This, according to the Police PRO, prompted the officers to visit the scene and arrested the suspect who denied the allegation.
Odutola said that the suspect was later dragged to the police custody and her case would be forwarded to the SCID in Abeokuta for further investigation.
She added that the police had provided the husband medical form and asked him to visit the hospital for medical treatment due to the severity of the injury.
