Police Shake-Up: IGP Disu Reassigns AIGs, CPs Nationwide

March 24, (THEWILL) — The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has ordered a sweeping redeployment of senior officers across the Nigeria Police Force in a move aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing leadership capacity, and improving service delivery nationwide.

The postings, announced on Tuesday in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, said the redeployments are part of ongoing reforms designed to reinforce the Force’s command structure and ensure the strategic deployment of personnel across Commands, Formations, and Departments.

Under the new arrangement, several Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) were assigned to key departments at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. AIG Ado Emmanuel was posted to Research and Planning, while AIG Joseph Eribo takes charge of the Department of Armament. AIG Miller G. Dantawaye was deployed to the Department of Operations, and AIG Henry Ifeanyi Uche to Training and Development.

Also, AIG Olanrewaju Peter Ogunlowo was posted to the Police Affairs Branch, while AIG Dahiru Mohammed was assigned to Zone 15, Maiduguri. AIG Dankombo F. Morris moves to Zone 4, Makurdi, and AIG Bello Shehu to Zone 14, Katsina.

Further postings include AIG Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba to the Department of Legal Services, AIG Ahmed Musa to Community Policing, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh to Zone 2, Lagos, and AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom to the FCID Annex, Lagos. AIG Haruna Olufemi was deployed to the Special Protection Unit at the Force Headquarters.

At the level of Commissioners of Police, CP Haruna Alaba Yahaya was posted to Jigawa State Command, while CP Olugbenga Ayodeji Abimbola and CP Olubode Ojajuni were assigned to Oyo and Ogun State Commands respectively. CP Michael Adegoroye Falade takes charge in Ekiti State, and CP Yakubu Useni Dankaro in Adamawa State.

Similarly, CP Muhammed Sanusi Ahmed was deployed to the Federal Capital Territory Command, while CP Olatunji Olaiwola Fatai assumes duty as Lagos State Commissioner of Police. CP Morkwap S. Dongshal, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello, CP Umar Ali Fagge, and CP Hayatu Shaffa Hassan were posted to Taraba, Zamfara, Katsina, and Sokoto State Commands respectively.

In specialised roles, CP Akan Ezima was appointed Director of the NPF National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC), Abuja, while CP Abbas Sule heads the Special Protection Unit. CP Ajo Geoffrey Ordue was posted to INTERPOL, Abuja, and CP Mnwadiogbu Cletus was named Deputy Commandant of the Police Academy.

Other notable postings include CP Moses Ashu Otta to SWAT, Abuja; CP Abdulrahim A. Shuaibu to Eastern Ports Authority; and CP Edwin Ogbegbghagha as Provost at the Force Headquarters. CP Preye R. Egbe was assigned to INEC, Abuja, while CP Adebisi Bola Lateef and CP Ojugbele E. Adebola were posted to Lagos formations.

Additionally, CP Fidelis N. Ogarabe was deployed to INTERPOL Annex, Lagos, while CP Theodore C. Obasi became Deputy Commandant of the Police College, Ikeja. CP Eloho E. Okpoziakpo was posted to the Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, and CP Kayode Uthman Magaji to the K9 unit in Dei-Dei, Abuja.

Other assignments saw CP Markus Ishaku Basiran posted to Courses at the Police Academy, CP Mohammed Babakura to Administration in the Department of Operations, and CP Silas Bamidele Aremu to the Safer Highway unit. CP Magaji Ismaila will oversee Community Safety and Crime Prevention, while CP Rebecca Uchenna Okereke was appointed Director of Music at the Force Headquarters.
