
May 08, (THEWILL) – The Presidential Election Petitions Court (PEPC), sitting at the Appeal Court, Abuja, has dismissed the Petition filed by the Action Alliance and its Presidential Candidate, Solomon David Okanigbuan, against the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as President-elect.
THEWILL earlier reported that the party and its Presidential Candidate, had notified the court of their intentions to withdraw their petition against Tinubu.
Besides Tinubu, others listed as respondents in AA’s petition are the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), All Progressives Congress (APC) and Hamza Al Mustapha.
Ruling on the application on Monday, a five-member panel of the PEPC, chaired by Justice Haruna Tsammani, granted leave to the Petitioners to withdraw their case against Tinubu and other respondents.
“in the absence of any objection from the respondents, the application is hereby granted. Consequently, the petition is hereby dismissed”, Justice Tsammani ruled.
