May 31, (THEWILL) – The Board of Trustees (BOT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has congratulated former Vice-President of Nigeria, Abubakar on his victory in the party’s presidential primary held on Saturday, 28th May, 2022.
THEWILL had reported that Atiku, polled 371 votes to emerge the presidential candidate of the PDP for the 2023 general elections.
Chairman of BOT, Senator Wali Jibrin, in his congratulatory message, described Atiku’s victory in the PDP primary as one of the best things that has happened to the party.
He advised the PDP flag bearer to choose an acceptable running mate that will generally be acceptable to Nigerians to guarantee victory at the polls in 2023.
According to him, “We must remember that Atiku was earlier elected as the party’s flag bear in 2019, but was shortchanged by the APC, this time around, we will not allow that to happen.”
He drew the attention to the performances of Atiku as Vice-president under the Obasanjo administration and congratulated the Senator David Mark’s National Convention Committee for a successful National convention and thanked the delegates for the wise decision.
The BOT also advised Nigerians to team up as members of one family to rebuild the country by supporting Atiku in the 2023 presidential election.
He described Atiku as a committed patriot and a detribalised Nigerian, who is a visionary leader and assured of his support to ensure victory come 2023.
