
May 13, (THEWILL)- The Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara has screened and confirmed the appointment of Dagogo Israel Iboroma (SAN) as Commissioner-designate.
THEWILL reports that the screening and confirmation of Iboroma was held on Monday, at the House plenary presided over by Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo, at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.
Recall that a Rivers State High Court had on Friday, barred the 25 pro-Wike lawmakers led by Martin Amaewhule as members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice fixed for May 29, 2024.
Justice C. N Wali issued the restraining order on the 25 defected lawmakers following a suit filed by Hon. Oko-Jumbo and two other Assembly members loyal to Governor Fubara.
While THEWILL cannot immediately confirm the position of the new commissioner-designate, it earlier reported the resignation of two commissioners, including the Attorney-General and that of Finance from the Fubara-led Rivers State Executive Council following their redeployment.
