March 18, (THEWILL) – The Police Service Commission has approved the promotion of 66 senior police officers to higher ranks, reinforcing its commitment to bolstering leadership within the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement issued by PSC spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, the commission confirmed the elevation of 20 commissioners of police to the rank of assistant inspectors general of police, 19 deputy commissioners of police to commissioners of police, and 27 other officers, including 13 superintendents of police and 14 deputy superintendents of police, to their next respective ranks.
Among those promoted to the rank of assistant inspector general are Fasuba Akinyele Olabode, commissioner of police in charge of the Special Fraud Unit, Force Headquarters; Musibau Omolabi Ajani, commissioner of police, Admin, FCID; Aliyu Abubakar Musa, commissioner of police, Katsina State Command; Patrick Adedeji Atayero, former commissioner of police, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Force Headquarters; Gyogon Augustine Grimah, commissioner of police, Cross River State Command; Olaiya Victor Mobolaji, commissioner of police, Kwara State Command; Chukwudi Chris Ariekpere, commissioner of police, Taraba State Command and commandant, Police College Oji River; Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, commissioner of police, FOM, Force Headquarters; Olalolu Adebowale Adegbite, commissioner of police, Interpol, FCID; Godwin Iguh Eze, commissioner of police, SEB, FCID Annex, Lagos; and Disu Olatunji Rilwan, commissioner of police, Federal Capital Territory.
Also promoted to the rank of assistant inspector general were Alausa Hakeem Tolani, commissioner of police, Admin PAB, Force Headquarters; Kareem Musa, commissioner of police, Interpol Annex, Lagos; Mohammed Shehu Dalijan, commissioner of police, Zamfara State Command; Dan-Mamman Shawulu, commissioner of police, Niger State Command; Clement Robert, commissioner of police, SERVICOM R&P, Force Headquarters; Musa Auwal Mohammed, commissioner of police, Bauchi State Command; Thomas Abraham Nabhoni, from the Office of the National Security Adviser; Abel Jangnap Miri Zwalchir, commissioner of police, ICT, Force Headquarters; and Ifeanyi Uka, commissioner of police, Works, Force Headquarters.
Nineteen deputy commissioners of police were also elevated to the rank of commissioner of police. Among them are Usman Tahir, deputy commissioner of police, R&P, Force Headquarters; Sunday J.A. Okoebor, deputy commissioner of police, Admin and Finance, Force Headquarters; Ayodeji Faniyan, deputy commissioner of police, Zonal CID, Zone 5, Benin; Saka Adewale Ajao, deputy commissioner of police, Zonal CID, Zone 2, Lagos; Omole Ola, deputy commissioner of police, PSFU, Lagos; and Hope Urunwa Okafor, deputy force provost, Force Headquarters.
Others include Ajo Geofrey Ordue, deputy commissioner of police, DFA, Zone 17, Akure; Olufunke Adeayo, deputy commissioner of police, Pensions, Force Headquarters; Stephen Olubunmi Ogedengbe, deputy commissioner of police, X Squad, FCID, Force Headquarters; Iyabode Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja, deputy commissioner of police, SCID, Oyo State Command; Adebowale Lawal, deputy commissioner of police, State CID, Enugu State Command; Ojo Adekimi, deputy commissioner of police, Operations, Kwara State Command; and Yemi John Oyeniyi, deputy commissioner of police, DFA, Ondo State Command.
The latest promotions come as part of efforts to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force and strengthen security nationwide.
