January 09, (THEWILL) — PwC Nigeria has been accredited as a system integrator for Nigeria’s new mandatory e-invoicing system under the Monitoring, Billing and Settlement (MBS) platform, a move aimed at modernising the country’s digital tax administration.
The accreditation forms part of broader government efforts to increase transparency, enhance compliance, and improve the integrity of transaction-level tax reporting by embedding tax reporting into everyday business processes.

Under the MBS framework, organisations are required to transmit invoice data to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) platform in real time, replacing traditional paper-based invoicing with a digital validation system designed to reduce errors and strengthen regulatory oversight.
Accredited system integrators are responsible for creating secure connections between taxpayers’ internal systems and the government platform.
Chijioke Uwaegbute, Partner and Tax & Regulatory Services Leader at PwC Nigeria, said the mandate reflects global trends toward real-time tax oversight and emphasizes the firm’s role in helping businesses manage complexity, protect value, and build trust across the tax ecosystem.
Tim Siloma, Partner and Tax Technology Leader, added that effective e-invoicing requires both technological integration and deep tax expertise to ensure accuracy, compliance, and control.
