March 27, (THEWILL) – The Yobe State Government has described false and misleading reports of an eviction notice allegedly issued by Boko Haram insurgents to communities in the Gujba Local Government Area.
Briefing newsmen after the state Security Council meeting chaired by the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana in Damaturu, the Special Adviser on Security Matters, Brigadier General, Dahiru Abdulsalam (Rtd), urged residents to continue their normal activities without fear.
General Abdulsalam said no credible intelligence suggests that insurgents have issued any eviction notice to residents of Gujba or any other part of the state.
He assured that the government in collaboration with security agencies remains committed to safeguarding all communities in the state.
The Security Council commended traditional rulers and community leaders for their roles in conflict resolution and fostering peace in the state.
