
March 05, (THEWILL) – Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu, has urged residents of the state and Nigerians at large, to disregard social media reports falsely claiming she has resigned from office.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by her media aide, Owupele Benebo, the Deputy Governor described the reports as baseless, clarifying that she has neither resigned nor intends to do so.
Reaffirming her commitment to Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s administration, Prof. Odu called on the public to dismiss the “baseless claims”.
The statement read: “The Office of the Deputy Governor of Rivers State wishes to categorically debunk the false and misleading reports suggesting that Her Excellency, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, has resigned.
“As a seasoned public servant and academic, Prof. Odu is dedicated to supporting the Governor in his efforts to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Rivers State.”
