June 27 (THEWILL) — Shaqueel van Persie, the son of former Netherlands striker Robin van Persie, is reportedly set to represent Morocco at the international level.
The 19-year-old Feyenoord forward is eligible to play for both the Netherlands through his father and Morocco through his mother, Bouchra Elbali.
Reports suggest he has shown interest in joining Morocco’s national team and could accept a future call-up.
He recently signed a new contract with Dutch club Feyenoord that runs until 2028 and continues his development there.
There is no official confirmation yet from the player or the relevant football associations.
