January 09, (THEWILL) — At The Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort, creativity has found an unlikely, but inspiring ally in security through the vision of Geoffrey Mensah Agbaga, the resort’s Security and Safety Assistant Manager, who has successfully woven his lifelong passion for art into the luxury hospitality experience.
Agbaga’s journey with art began in his nursery years and continued through his basic education, where his talent for drawing steadily evolved. Determined to refine his skills, he later trained at the Ankle College of Art, graduating in 2002.
He initially worked as a sign writer and fine art painter, earning a living through creative expression. However, economic realities at the time compelled him to seek a more stable career path, leading him into the security profession.
His transition into security saw him work with Inter-Con Security Systems, Ghana, for three years, after which he joined Alisa Hotel, where he served as a hospitality security professional for seven years.
These experiences eventually paved the way for his appointment at The Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort. Alongside his professional growth, Agbaga continued to invest in education, earning a diploma in Security Management, Investigation and Forensic Psychology from Wisconsin University.
Despite the demands of a structured security career, Agbaga never abandoned his artistic roots. About a year ago, he introduced a Sip-and-Paint initiative at The Royal Senchi, designed to offer guests a relaxed and immersive experience that blends art, leisure and cultural expression.
The programme allows guests to unwind in a serene setting while exploring their creativity through guided painting sessions.
The initiative has been warmly received by guests and management, enhancing the resort’s leisure offerings while creating additional income opportunities.
During festive periods, Agbaga also organises special painting sessions for children of hotel guests, encouraging creativity and providing memorable family experiences.
Speaking with the journalist today, Agbaga said his journey demonstrates that creativity can thrive even within highly structured professions.
He stressed that passion should not be sacrificed for professional stability, noting that when properly nurtured, it can be integrated in ways that add value to organisations and enrich personal fulfilment.
Beyond his official duties, Agbaga remains actively involved in promoting and uplifting art, reaffirming his belief that talent, when sustained with discipline and vision, can find meaningful expression in even the most unexpected spaces.
