September 26, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Olukemi Victoria Iyantan as a Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), representing Ondo State.
Her confirmation followed the consideration of the report of the Senate Committee on National Identity Card and National Population, chaired by Senator Abdul Ningi (PDP, Bauchi Central).
The lawmakers approved the recommendation of the committee when it was put to voice vote by the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, who presided over the session on Sunday.
After the confirmation, Senator Jibrin urged Iyantan to join other Commissioners and the Chairman of NPC to move the commission forward.
