May 28, (THEWILL) – The Senate has recalled the Senator representing Bauchi Central District, Abdul Ahmed Ningi, from suspension.

Ningi, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member, was suspended for three months on March 12, 2024, over allegations of N3.7 trillion padding of the 2024 Budget in March. His recall is coming just two weeks to the end of his three-month suspension, which is supposed to terminate on June 12, 2024

His recall followed a motion moved at plenary on Tuesday, by Deputy Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro.

Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, who announced the unconditional recall of Ningi described him as a valued member of the Senate.

Emphasising Ningi’s resourcefulness to the Senate, Akpabio said his recall transcends religious and ethnic divides.
