November 01, (THEWILL) – A coalition of serving Nigerian senators has unveiled an initiative to distribute 10 billion copies of Rhapsody of Realities, a monthly devotional, authored by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church.
The publication, widely known for its inspirational messages and teachings, is aimed at driving attitudinal change among Nigerians to foster growth and national development.
At the inauguration of the “Reachout World Day with Rhapsody of Realities” initiative held at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, Nigerian senators pledged their commitment to the cause.
In his remarks, Senator Omueya Ede Dafinone (APC-Delta), described Rhapsody of Realities as a daily guide designed to bring God’s word to life for readers. He explained that the publication aims to provide individuals around the world with a daily opportunity to reflect on their lives, encouraging them to live better and more fulfilling lives through spiritual insights.
“The book is not exclusively for Christians; it’s intended for everyone, which is why it has been published in 8,000 languages and tailored for various age groups. In today’s global climate, everyone needs a morning boost, and I believe this book will inspire and energise people worldwide”, he said.
Sen. Thomas Joel-Onowakpo (PDP-Delta), also spoke at the event, acknowledging the transformative impact of Christ Embassy Church’s work.
Emphasising the significant financial resources required to achieve its goals, Joel-Onowakpo reassured the implementers not to panic, stating, “The money for the work of God will come.”
He likened the publication to the Bible, describing it as a guide that provides invaluable direction. “I urge everyone, especially our youth, to engage with the Rhapsody of Realities. Please read it”, he said.
Joel-Onowakpo encouraged the audience to delve into the text, highlighting that it outlines God’s plan for humanity.
“In this troubled world, the first step is to believe in God. Don’t rush into anything; understand that the Creator has a purpose for you. Work in accordance with His plan. Once you achieve that, many of the anxieties we face in this current dispensation will become relics of the past. The obsession with get-rich-quick schemes will fade away. Focus on God; it is only through Him that you can attain true success without sorrow”, he stated.
In her remarks, Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Ms. C.O. Esung, emphasised that the publication should be approached with faith.”
Esung prayed for God to grant faith to all those who read the publication, encouraging them to practice what they learn. She expressed the willingness of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), to partner with Christ Embassy in distributing the publication.
Esung highlighted that the FRSC has various channels for effective distribution, including National Youth Service Corps members, Special Corps Marshals and first responders.
Earlier, Pastor Obi Chiemeka, Director of the Christ Embassy Ministry Centre, in Abuja, shared that the publication has been translated into 8,132 languages worldwide, including braille for the visually impaired. He noted that different editions would be distributed monthly. He stated that there are translations in various dialects, bringing the total number of translations to 12,000. The publication caters to a diverse demographic, with versions for children, early readers, teenagers and adults.
“The transformative message it carries brings hope to the hopeless and opens people’s eyes, providing them with a vision for life. We are deeply passionate about this mission”, he explained. We are particularly interested in the Reachout World Day initiative in the FCT because we believe it has the potential to build nations. When young people engage with this material, it inspires them to envision a brighter future for themselves. Moreover, as it is based on God’s words, it brings blessings to those who read it.”
During the national launch day event held at the National Assembly Complex, Dr Chris Iyam, the Executive Director of CYPA-Africa, emphasised the transformative power of the publication Rhapsody of Realities. He highlighted the importance of the publication for lawmakers, asserting that if they started their day by reading Rhapsody of Realities, they would be less prone to making mistakes in the laws they enact. He remarked that many decisions made in parliament have far-reaching consequences, impacting the lives of over 200 million Nigerians.
Dr Iyam believes that Rhapsody of Realities encourages positive thinking and inspires lawmakers to consider the future of the country. “One day, we will see a National Assembly where members read Rhapsody of Realities before beginning their work; it is only then that their leadership will be guided by the Spirit of God. I believe in the members of the House and our senators because you have the power to bring about change. The Spirit of God will guide you perfectly in your endeavors.”
