October 31, (THEWILL) — Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and other top All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Benue State have thrown their weight of support for President Bola Tinubu to win the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at the Inauguration of the campaign office in Makurdi on Friday, Senator Akume, who was represented at the ceremony by the Second Republic senator, Jack Gyado, the SGF, said many Benue people have benefited immensely from the administration, including appointments and infrastructural projects.
On his part, the president of the Senate, Goodwill Akpabio, who scored the government of Bola Tinubu highly, stressed the need for Nigerians to rally around him to consolidate on the gains posted in the past two years in office.
Represented by Senator Titus Zam of Benue North West, Senator Akpabio said many resources have been deployed to states and local Government Councils to implement purposeful projects for the people.
He called on Benue people to vote for President Tinubu in reciprocation of what he has done for the state and beyond.
In their separate remarks, former Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico, Prof. Iyorwuese Hagher, and Chief Simon Shango, commended the bold steps taken by President Tinubu in removing fuel subsidy, which has brought about money being used for the good of Nigerians.
Professor Hagher decried disunity amongst the political class in the state, between supporters of Senator Akume and Governor Hyacinth Alia, which is inimical to the development of the state.
Earlier, the Chief Convener of Tinubu Support Group in Benue State, Dr Mathias Byuan, acknowledged what President Tinubu has done for Benue and Nigeria at large.
Byuan, who is the Executive Director, Housing, Finance and Accounts in the Federal Housing Authority, called on youth to cooperate for the reelection of President Tinubu in 2027.
Performing Nollywood actors at the event, including Zack Orji, Adele, Rabister, Wuga, all said, Dr Byuan will make a good governor, as in the case at the Federal Housing Authority.
