August 15, (THEWILL) — The Executive Director of Housing, Finance and Accounts in the Federal Housing Authority of Nigeria (FHAN), Dr Mathias Byuan, has appealed to the people of Kwande/Ushongo intermediate area to shelve the political ambition to contest the 2027 governorship election in Benue State.
He made his feeling known while delivering a funeral oration during the burial of Lady Hilda Uji, the wife of the Zonal Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress for Benue North East, Barr. Vincent Uji, held at Ajio, Shangev-ya in Kwande local Government area of the state.
Byuan, who is of Jerchira extraction, argued that since the inception of rotational governorship in Benue state, all the political blocks in Tiv land has had two tenures of four years in the past.
“Jerchira intermediate area also deserve another four years in the next general election to complete eight years”, Byuan stated.
While urging Kwande people to support Jerchira in 2027, the Executive Director posited that they will be supported by Jerchira block when it is their turn.
In a statement, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Executive Director, Mr Akange Nyagba, quoted Dr Byuan as lauding the virtues of Lady Uji, praying to God to console the family.
The statement listed personalities that attended the burial to include the Senator representing Benue North East, Emmanuel Udende, member of the House of representatives for Kwande/Ushongo federal constituency, Hon. Terseer Ugbor, Engr Nick Wende, traditional rulers, the clergy and other political chieftains.
