November 04, (THEWILL) — Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday departed Abuja for Brazil to represent Nigeria at a high-level international climate change summit.
According to a statement issued by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communications, the global summit will convene world leaders, policymakers, and environmental experts to deliberate on strategies for tackling climate change, promoting green energy, and advancing sustainable development.
During the summit, Shettima is expected to present Nigeria’s position on climate resilience, renewable energy investment, and the country’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions in line with the Paris Agreement.
The Vice President will also hold bilateral talks with other world leaders to strengthen partnerships that support Nigeria’s environmental protection efforts and climate adaptation programmes.
