Shettima Leads APC Leadership As Tinubu Submits 2027 Election Forms

May 08, (THEWILL) — Vice President Kashim Shettima, on behalf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee, on Friday, received the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms of President Bola Tinubu, formally marking the commencement of his bid for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

The ceremony, which was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, attracted a large crowd of political stakeholders, including governors, members of the National Assembly, party executives, elders, and supporters from across the country, in what party leaders described as a strong demonstration of unity and confidence in the administration.

Shettima, while speaking at the event, said the overwhelming turnout reflected the widespread acceptance of the President’s leadership and the growing support for the administration’s policy direction under the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

According to him, the occasion was not merely ceremonial but a clear affirmation of continuity, stability, and collective resolve within the ruling party to sustain ongoing reforms and development efforts.

“The occasion was witnessed by governors, leaders and members of the National Assembly, party elders, and other critical stakeholders across the country”, Shettima stated.

He added that the APC remained committed to strengthening internal democracy, deepening national cohesion, and supporting policies aimed at repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth and prosperity.

“As a party, we remain committed to deepening internal democracy, strengthening national cohesion, and supporting policies and programmes that will continue to reposition our nation for sustainable growth and prosperity. Together, we move forward with renewed confidence and greater determination for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria”, he added.

Also reacting to the development, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, described the submission of the nomination forms as a significant milestone in the political journey of the President.

Faleke noted that the event, which held at the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, was presided over by Vice President Shettima and attended by governors, members of the APC National Working Committee led by its Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, as well as other party stakeholders.

“To the glory of God, today we submitted the Presidential Nomination Form for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, Faleke said.

He further described the gathering as a demonstration of party cohesion and readiness ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing optimism about the continued strength and unity of the APC as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.
