April 30, (THEWILL) – Guaranty Trust Bank Limited has informed its customers of an upward review in charges for SMS transaction alerts.
In a notice sent to customers, the bank said that effective Thursday, May 1, 2025, the fee for SMS transaction alerts will increase from N4 to N6 per message.
According to GTBank, the adjustment follows a recent hike in telecom tariffs by service providers.
“Dear Valued Customer, please be informed that effective Thursday, May 1, 2025, the SMS transaction alert fee will increase from N4 to N6 per message. This adjustment is due to a recent increase in telecom rates as communicated by the telecommunication service providers,” the message read.
The bank added that SMS transaction alerts are essential for customers to monitor and control the activities on their accounts.
It also noted that SMS alerts sent to international phone numbers would attract higher charges.
