June 24, (THEWILL) – The Civil Aviation Authority of South Sudan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Kaduna State, to support manpower development in its aviation sector.
The agreement followed a high-level visit by officials from South Sudan’s Civil Aviation Authority, acting on the directive of the country’s President, Salva Kiir Mayardit.
The MoU marks a strategic step by South Sudan to build human capacity in its aviation industry through collaboration with one of Africa’s premier aviation training institutions.
Rector and Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma Ismaila, received the Director General of the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, Hon. John Woja Eliana, and his delegation of South Sudanese aviation officials during the visit, which included a tour of NCAT’s facilities.
The visitors expressed satisfaction with the college’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, comprehensive training programs, and highly experienced instructional staff.
In his remarks, Dr. Ismaila thanked the delegation for their interest in NCAT and reaffirmed the college’s readiness to support South Sudan’s aviation development goals.
He also presented a catalogue of training programs and course modules tailored to address identified human capacity gaps in South Sudan’s aviation industry.
With the MoU now in place, both parties are expected to commence implementation of the agreement, with training activities set to begin soon for the mutual benefit of both countries.
