The celebration is being organised by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with the University of Uyo.

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Anieti Udofia, said the 2026 edition would feature exhibitions, traditional performances, and displays of indigenous attire reflecting the state’s cultural heritage.

He says activities will also include the presentation of prizes to winners of the Akwa Ibom Heritage Quiz Competition for students in tertiary institutions across the state.

Organisers said the event is part of efforts to promote cultural awareness and position Akwa Ibom State as a destination for heritage tourism.
