December 25, (THEWILL) – Daniel EK, the Swedish-born Chief Executive Officer of Spotify is now worth $7.2 billion according to Forbes, more than the four richest musicians in the world combined.
That makes him far richer than any musician in history.

Six months ago, Ek was only worth $4.9 billion.
Spotify now has more than 381 million users, 172 million of whom are paying subscribers. Via a dual-class share system, Ek owns nearly 9% of the shares but has 37% of voting control.
Ek and his business partner, Martin Lorentzon founded the company in 2006 in Sweden and launched the product in 2008.
