November 24, (THEWILL) — The Nigerian Army has released the list of shortlisted candidates for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 49/2026, ahead of the Selection Board scheduled to hold from December 1 to 19, 2025.
In a public announcement issued on Monday by the Military Secretary (Army), the Army confirmed that the list of successful applicants has been published on its recruitment portal.
Shortlisted candidates are to report to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Ribadu Campus (Old Site), Kaduna, on December 1 between 6:00 am and 11:00 am.
The Army warned that any candidate who arrives after the 11:00 am reporting deadline will be disqualified. Applicants were advised to arrive in Kaduna on or before November 30 to avoid delays.
Candidates must present original copies and two photocopies of relevant documents, including academic certificates, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, birth certificate, certificate of state of origin, and authenticated BVN slip.
Other required items include writing materials, personal cutlery, toiletries, three pairs of blue shorts and white T-shirts, white canvas shoes, beddings, and four passport photographs.
Serving military personnel must provide valid leave passes and official identity cards.
The Army also mandated all candidates to present a duly signed Letter of Consent from their parent or guardian, stating they will not seek compensation for injury or death that may occur during the exercise.
The letter must be endorsed in court by a Commissioner of Oaths.
The Selection Board will involve document screening, physical fitness assessments, medical examinations, academic evaluations, and oral interviews.
Accommodation and feeding will be provided throughout the exercise, but candidates are responsible for their transportation to and from Kaduna.
The use of private vehicles is prohibited, and no visitors will be allowed for the duration of the programme.
The Army reiterated that any form of misconduct, non-compliance with instructions, or alteration of documents will lead to immediate disqualification. It added that, due to the nature of the exercise, it will not be liable for injuries or fatalities that may occur during the process.
