August 05, (THEWILL) — The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested five suspects allegedly involved in a string of violent crimes, including cultism, armed robbery, and rape, in the Abak Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects identified as Richard Edet Udo, Hope Unibong Anitie, Joseph Ibongidi, Christian Joseph Johnny, and Joseph Joseph, were apprehended on July 30, 2025, during a late-night raid at their hideout following a discreet police investigation.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, the arrests followed a formal complaint lodged by a male victim who reported that on June 26, 2025, a group of armed men broke into his room at a Guest House in Abak, robbed him of his valuables, and raped his female companion.
