June 22, (THEWILL) – The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says there will be a partial power outage in parts of Nasarawa state for six hours on Saturday, June 22, 2024, due to scheduled maintenance.

In a statement on Friday, TCN said the maintenance exercise will be carried out on the 40MVA transformer at the Akwanga transmission substation, affecting the power supply to Akwanga Town, Wamba, Gudi, Garaku, Nasarawa Eggon and surrounding areas.

The maintenance exercise will be carried out on its 40 megavolt-amperes (MVA)transformer at the Akwanga transmission substation.

“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), hereby states that its maintenance crew will carry out planned annual preventive maintenance on its 40MVA Transformer at Akwanga Transmission Substation on Saturday, June 22, 2024, between the hours of 9:30 am and 4:30 pm”, the statement reads.

“Consequently, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), will be unable to offtake power from the transformer, resulting in a power outage in the affected areas.
“Power supply will be restored immediately after the maintenance is completed by 4.30 pm on June 22.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and assure our customers that we are working hard to minimise the impact of the outage”, TCN said.
