June 30, (THEWILL) — Amid the escalating crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the position of National Secretary, tension flared at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja on Monday as security operatives forcefully ejected two members of the party from its caucus meeting
The meeting, scheduled to take place in the National Executive Committee (NEC) hall, descended into chaos when the individuals (reportedly not official members of the NEC), were asked to leave by protocol officers.
Although THEWILL can not immediately verify the identity of the individuals, security operatives intervened and forcibly removed them from the hall when they resisted.
In the process of the physical confrontation, the glass entrance to the NEC hall was shattered, drawing attention and briefly disrupting proceedings.
