December 24, (THEWILL) – Thousands of supporters of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and admirers, on Sunday, accorded Governor Abba Yusuf a rousing welcome back to Kano after a trip out of the State.
The Governor had been away to Abuja for several days where he reportedly witnessed the hearing of his appeal at the Supreme Court against the verdict of the Court of Appeal which upheld the judgement of the Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal that voided his election.
Yusuf arrived at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport to a tumultuous welcome by the NNPP faithful amid party songs, slogans, traditional music and dances.
He was received by his Deputy, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo; Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Isma’il Jibrin Falgore; his Chief of Staff, Shehu Wada Sagagi, and the State Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa.
Others were members of National and State Assemblies from Kano State, members of the Kano State Executive Council, Special Advisers and thousands of red cap disciples of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.
The Governor’s convoy rallied through the major streets of the State capital, including Katsina Road, Airport Road, State Road and Mallam Aminu Kano Way, acknowledging cheers from the residents.
It took the convoy over 3 hours to reach Sani Abacha Stadium where the Governor launched Corporate Security training of 2500 youths in the State.
