February 16, (THEWILL) – At least three persons have been killed and several others abducted by bandits, who invaded a mosque in the Kankara local government area of Katsina State, on Thursday.
According to security, the bandits raided the mosque and opened fire on the Muslim faithful, during the Isha’i evening prayer session, leaving three persons dead and four others wounded, while an unconfirmed number of worshippers were abducted.
He explained that the bandits also moved into the town, where they abducted a man and two women and also killed a man who refused to go with them.
“Unfortunately, the man’s refusal to go with the assailants cost him his life as he was mercilessly butchered for daring to defy the abductors”, the source said.
The State Police Command has not issued any statement on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
