DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi

July 30, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has appointed DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, replacing Abdulganiyu Jaji, who retires on August 13, at the age of 60.

A statement signed by Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril (rtd ), Secretary to the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), said Adeyemi is well-qualified, having held key roles and completed relevant training.

The statement read: “On behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), is pleased to announce the appointment of DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new substantive Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), effective 14th August, 2025.

“This appointment follows the imminent retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, on 13th August, 2025, upon attaining the age of sixty (60).

“DCG Olumode Samuel Adeyemi brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having transferred his service from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service and grown to the rank of Deputy Controller-General of Fire in the Human Resource Directorate of the Service Headquarters.

“In the course of his career, the Officer has attended and passed all mandatory In-Service trainings, command course, as well as other courses within and outside the control.

“He has served in various capacities and is equally a member/fellow of the following professional associations, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

“The Board extends its appreciation to the retiring Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola for his remarkable contributions to the development of the Federal Fire Service, while also acknowledging his dedication and commitment to the service, and the numerous initiatives he spearheaded during his period of service.”

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Government has congratulated Adeyemi on his Appointment as the New Controller General of the Federal Fire Service

A statement signed on Wednesday by Kingsley Femi Fanwa, Commissioner for Information and Communications, said the appointment is a clear recognition of his dedication, hard work, and professionalism.

The Government expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his trust in the capacity of the Kogi people to contribute significantly to the nation’s growth and development.
