May 23 (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential election primaries in Benue State, having polled a total of 374,787 votes to defeat his rival, Stanley Osifor.
Declaring the results at the APC secretariat in Makurdi on Saturday, the Chief Collation Officer and governor of Benue State, Revd Fr Hyacinth Alia, said Osifor polled 779 votes to come second in the race.
He commended the members of the national secretariat, state working committee, stakeholders, as well as security forces for their sleepless night, which led to a hitch-free exercise.
According to Governor Alia, he had earlier gone round the state to monitor the exercise, which he noted was peaceful with a high turnout of members, saying APC will win the 2027 general election at all levels if such cooperation from members is sustained.
