October 17, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Nigerian legal practitioner, Tolu Obamuroh, on his elevation to the Partnership of White & Case LLP, one of the world’s leading international law firms headquartered in New York.
Obamuroh, who will assume his new role on January 1, 2026, will serve as a partner in the firm’s International Arbitration Practice in Paris. He joins a select group of only three new partners globally in this practice area and stands out as the only Nigerian-qualified lawyer in this year’s global partner class.
The President described Obamuroh’s achievement as a reflection of Nigerian competence, resilience, and excellence on the global stage.
“Tolu’s success represents the best of the country’s new generation of professionals who continue to distinguish themselves worldwide”, Tinubu said.
Obamuroh has built a notable career representing sovereigns and multinational corporations in high-value cross-border disputes, particularly in the energy and infrastructure sectors. He has also played a key role in advising the Government of Nigeria in several international matters under the supervision of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
President Tinubu further affirmed that Obamuroh’s rise to partnership at one of the world’s most respected law firms symbolises the “Renewed Hope” vision of a Nigeria where citizens excel globally through merit, discipline, and integrity.
He urged young Nigerians to draw inspiration from Obamuroh’s journey, stressing that his elevation demonstrates that Nigerians can attain leadership positions in international institutions with dedication and service.
The President joined Obamuroh’s family, colleagues, and the wider legal community in celebrating the milestone.
