August 06, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu has congratulated three Nigerian students — Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli for emerging as world champions in English language communication and debate at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Competition held in London, United Kingdom.
In a statement signed on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the students as “exceptional young Nigerians” and said their remarkable performance affirms a bright future for the country.
The trio, aged 17, 15 and 16 respectively, are students of Nigeria Tulip International College, Mamudo, Yobe State. They beat over 20,000 participants from 69 countries to clinch top honours at the international event.
Nafisa emerged as the overall best in English language skills, while Rukayya won the top award in debate.
Hadiza received the Outstanding Talent Award for her creativity and unique presentation. Collectively, the team scored the highest marks across all categories, bringing global recognition to Nigeria.
President Tinubu praised their brilliance and perseverance, noting that their achievement reflects the quality and potential of Nigeria’s education system.
“These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication of our students and the ability of our academic institutions to nurture some of the world’s brightest minds,” the statement read.
The President reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the education sector, highlighting ongoing investments and the creation of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to remove financial barriers for indigent students.
He encouraged the girls to remain focused on their studies and wished them continued success in their academic pursuits.
