Tinubu Hosts Governors to Interfaith Ramadan Iftar at Villa

February 24, (THEWILL) — President Bola Tinubu on Monday evening hosted state governors to a Ramadan Interfaith Iftar dinner at the State House, Abuja, continuing his annual tradition of breaking fast with political leaders during the holy month.

The interfaith gathering, which began at 7:00 p.m., marked the third consecutive year the President has convened governors for a symbolic fast-breaking at the Aso Rock Villa. Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, were present, alongside members of the Federal Executive Council and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

The Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, led governors from across the federation, including Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, and Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru.

Also in attendance were Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo, and the Deputy Governor of Bauchi State.

Tinubu has consistently used the Iftar to promote national unity and encourage collaboration across party lines.
