May 08, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, visited Anambra State to inaugurate several landmark projects executed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The president was accompanied by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Minister of Works, Dave Umahi; Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma; Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah; and Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
Projects commissioned during the visit include the new Anambra State Government House, Governor’s Lodge, Solution Fun City, the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy, and projects at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
Commending Soludo, Tinubu lauded the governor’s efforts in infrastructure and governance.
“Soludo is here providing a solution—and that solution is infrastructure and inclusive development. Well done, Mr Governor, for demonstrating quality governance for the people of Anambra.
“Anambra is achieving great heights. With leaders like Soludo, the state is on a clear path to 21st-century development. You are a good thinker and a solution provider. We can build Nigeria’s future together using technology and sound governance. Let’s promote investment and encourage good governance,” Tinubu said.
Meanwhile, the president was honoured with a chieftaincy title, ‘Dike Si Mba Anambra’, by the Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers.
The title, meaning ‘Warrior from the Diaspora’, was conferred on Tinubu by the Chairman of the Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Eze Iweka III of Obosi), at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
Speaking during the conferment, Igwe Iweka said, “This is a title jointly bestowed by all royal fathers across the 179 communities of Anambra State in recognition of your positive impact on national development. We welcome you to Anambra and commend your efforts in driving infrastructure across the country.”
In response, Tinubu expressed appreciation to the monarchs, saying, “I feel deeply honoured. Today is not only historic, but a moment I will forever cherish. Our diversity must lead to prosperity. We must work together to move Nigeria forward and commit to national development.”
