Akpabio subsequently referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for screening.

Although the President did not specify the portfolio for Dr. Ude, THEWILL gathered that his nomination comes following the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji as Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology.

Nnaji, also from Enugu State, resigned on October 7 amid allegations of certificate forgery.
