
September 26, (THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, received the Edo State Governor-elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Okpebholo was accompanied by the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, and some of the Governors elected on the platform of the party, including Hope Uzodimma (Imo), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Uba Sani (Kaduna), Usman Ododo (Kogi) and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun).
Also on the entourage was the Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, and the reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu.
THEWILL earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Thursday, issued certificates of return to Okpebholo and his Deputy.
The Returning Officer for the Edo governorship election and Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruq Kuta, on Sunday, declared Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the election held on Saturday, September 21.
