March 25, (THEWILL) — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday evening returned to Abuja following a successful stay in Lagos, where he marked the Eid al-Fitr and concluded engagements after his historic state visit to the United Kingdom.
The President departed from the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at exactly 6:44 pm, bringing to a close a series of high-level meetings and consultations aimed at strengthening governance and national cohesion.
President Tinubu had earlier returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom in the early hours of Friday, proceeding to participate in the Eid-el-Fitr prayers held at Dodan Barracks in Lagos.
The spiritual observance underscored a period of reflection and unity, aligning with the administration’s ongoing commitment to national peace and inclusive development.
During his stay in Lagos, the President held strategic engagements with key stakeholders across the country.
Notably, he received 23 state governors, including Biodun Oyebanji, in a meeting widely seen as reinforcing intergovernmental collaboration and policy alignment.
In further demonstration of Nigeria’s growing international partnerships, President Tinubu also hosted a delegation from the European Union, alongside members of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), reflecting ongoing efforts to deepen diplomatic and developmental ties.
Vice President Kashim Shettima was also in Lagos to brief the President on his recent visit to Borno State, particularly in response to security developments in the region.
The engagement highlighted the administration’s proactive approach to national security and crisis management.
At the President’s residence and the airport departure ceremony were several prominent leaders, including the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, and former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba.
Also present to bid farewell were the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, alongside senior government officials and party stakeholders.
