The discussions centered on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties, with both leaders committing to increase bilateral trade from the current 2 billion Dollars to a target of 5 billion Dollars.

President Erdoğan also pledged Türkiye’s support for Nigeria’s counter-terrorism efforts, particularly in the Sahel, through enhanced military training and intelligence sharing.

The engagement culminated in the signing of nine bilateral agreements. These MoUs cover a wide range of strategic areas, including a joint declaration on an economy and trade committee, defence industry cooperation, energy, higher education, and media and communication.

Tinubu expressed his appreciation for Türkiye’s willingness to collaborate, noting that “support is not by mouth; we have shown commitment with action” in building inclusive economic growth.

The President was received at the airport by senior government officials, including FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, Minister of Finance Wale Edun, and Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle.

Members of the presidential delegation, such as Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, also participated in the sessions that shaped the visits outcomes.
