May 24, (THEWILL) — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today receive the Certificate and Flag of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as its Presidential candidate in the 2027 General Election.
The President emerged winner of the party’s presidential primaries held across the 36 states in the country and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, defeating his only challenger, Stanley Osifo by 99.9 percent of the votes cast by members in states where the direct primary option was used. Emphatically, President Tinubu defeated Osifo in his ward in Ovia Local Government Area of Edo State by 1,023 votes to 1.
After the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Dennis read the results to journalists at the ward, Osifo pledged his loyalty to the President and the party and thanked other members of the party for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the duration of the exercise.
According to the Presidential spokesperson on Saturday, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidential Primary Elections Committee will present the certificate and flag at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja after nationwide collation of the primary election results.
APC governors, members of the National Executive Committee, the National Working Committee, and the National Assembly, along with party stalwarts, will attend the event.
From the results so far declared in many states, the President won the primary by 99.9 percent.
RESULTS FROM SOUTH SOUTH: AKWA IBOM, BAYELSA, DELTA, EDO STATES
In Akwa Ibom State, Tinubu won the party primary with 389,197 votes, while Chief Stanley Osifo recorded zero votes.
The APC presidential primary election was conducted on Saturday across all 329 wards in Akwa Ibom to elect the APC Presidential flag bearer in the 2027 general election.
The APC State Collation Officer and Governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr Umo Eno, announced the results of the primary election which were earlier submitted by the local government returning officers.
Tinubu Swept the polls in Bayelsa. He polled a total of polled 277,192 votes in the direct primaries of the party in 105 wards of the eight local government areas of the state.
According to the official declaration by the State Collation and Returning Officer, Governor Douye Diri . Osifo, recorded a total of 5 votes from Yenagoa Local Government Area.
Tinubu scored 131,096 votes in the primary held across the 192 wards in Edo State on Saturday.
Governor Monday Okpebholo, who is the returning officer for the presidential primary, said the election was very peaceful across the state, with Tinubu securing 131,096 votes, while his challenger, Stanley Osifo, secured just 1 vote across all wards in Edo State.
The governor said, “The election was peacefully conducted across Edo State. I participated in the election myself as I voted in my ward, and the results have been presented as they are from all the 192 wards in the state, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured 131,096 votes while Osifo scored one vote.”
In Delta, the President polled a total of 407,646 votes to emerge victorious at the presidential Primary Election in the state.
The President clinched all the votes cast at the 270 wards in the 25 local government areas of the state, leaving his opponent, Mr Stanley Osifo with zero vote.
Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Delta State Coordinator and Returning Officer of the APC primary election, declared President Tinubu winner of the election at the state collation Centre in Asaba.
The governor disclosed that the APC recorded 467,815 registered members in Delta, adding that 407,646 members were accredited and participated in the primary election.

RESULTS FROM SOUTHEAST: ANAMBRA, EBONYI, IMO
Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi on Saturday announced that President Bola Tinubu won the presidential primary for the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in the state on Friday.
The governor, who served as the Presidential Primary Collation Officer in Ebonyi, said Tinubu secured 207,579 votes in the APC primary election conducted in the state.
Nwifuru said Tinubu defeated his opponent, Mr Stanley Osifo, who scored no vote.
He said the state had a total of 215,490 delegates, while 207,579 accredited delegates voted in the primary election.
According to him, Tinubu emerged as the preferred candidate in the primary after securing all the valid votes cast by delegates across the state.
The Chairman, Anambra chapter of the APC), Sen. Emma Anosike, expressed satisfaction over the massive turnout and peaceful conduct of the presidential primary election in the state.
He described the turnout of the election in various parts of the state as a clear demonstration of the renewed commitment of the party members toward ensuring the re-election of President Tinubu in 2027 general election.
“You have seen the level of participation across the state. This marks a new dawn for our party in Anambra.
“As I moved round the wards, I was overwhelmed by the turnout. Even members of other political parties were surprised by the huge number of people who came out to vote.
“Gone are the days when the APC was viewed as a weak political force in the state. The ongoing mobilisation efforts and the online registration of members have significantly strengthened the party’s grassroots presence.” he said.
Imo State, Tinubu secured a landslide in the Imo APC presidential primary election, polling 582,823 of the 583,653 total votes cast.
Gov. Hope Uzodimma, who declared the result in Owerri, said Tinubu’s opponent, Mr Tunde Osifo, trailed far behind with 103 votes.
Uzodimma said that the figure arrived from all the 305 wards across the 27 Local Government Areas of the state.
He hailed the peaceful exercise, saying, “I will now forward the collated results to the national headquarters in Abuja for onward processing and final declaration.”
RESULTS FROM NORTHWEST: JIGAWA, ZAMFARA
Tinubu has secured 206,420 votes to emerge the winner of the primary election in Jigawa State.
Gov. Umar Namadi, who is the Chief Returning Officer for the APC Presidential primary election, announced the result in Dutse on Saturday.
Namadi declared Tinubu the winner after collating results from the 27 local government areas of the state.
“My name is Umar Namadi, the Coalition Officer for Jigawa state. The total number of registered voters in Jigawa is 330,327 and the total number of accredited voters is 206,520.
“The scores by the two contestants is as follows, President Bola .Tinubu scored 206,520 votes while Mr Stanley Osifo scored zero vote,” Namadi said.
In Zamfara State, the President secured 321,579 votes to emerge winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election.
The Chief Returning Officer, Governor Dauda Lawal, announced the result in Gusau on Saturday.
Lawal declared Tinubu the winner after collating results from all 14 Local Government Areas of the state.
“According to the results presented, Tinubu secured an overwhelming majority of the votes, polling a total of 321,579 votes, while his opponent, Stanley Osifor, scored 42 votes.
“The total number of registered APC members in the state stood at 365,796, with 322,435 accredited voters participating in the exercise.
“A total of 321,620 votes were cast during the presidential primary election,” he said.
Giving the breakdown of the results from the local government areas, Lawal said it showed that President Tinubu enjoyed massive support across the state, defeating his opponent by a wide margin in all the councils.
Dr Mahmud Isah, led a team of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials to monitor the exercise.
Former Zamfara State Governor and Minister of State for Defence, Mohammed Bello Matawalle, who led thousands of supporters in his hometown and Maradun South ward Rumfai, reaffirmed support for Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections, and predicted decisive victories for the ruling party in the 2027 polls.
RESULTS FROM NORTH CENTRAL: PLATEAU
The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday recorded a massive turnout of voters during the presidential primary in Plateau State.
Some government officials, party leaders and APC members have promised to support the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu.
Addressing the voters, the Chairman of Jos North LGA, Mr John Christopher, described the exercise as a demonstration of unity and deep democratic participation.
“We are here today to thank our party members in this locality for coming out in mass to vote for the president.
RESULTS FROM SOUTHWEST: LAGOS, OGUN
In Ogun State, the presidential primary election held across Ogun State recorded a massive turnout, peaceful conduct and overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu, as party leaders and members reaffirmed their commitment to the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking after the exercise, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, described the successful conduct of the APC primaries in the state as a reflection of the peace, unity, and political maturity within the party.
According to the governor, Ogun State has consistently maintained a peaceful political atmosphere over the last seven years, enabling citizens and party members to freely participate in democratic processes without violence or intimidation.
“The peace in the state has defined us as a state that knows how to organise, plan, engage, discuss, and manage party affairs without rancour,” Abiodun said.
Governor Abiodun noted that the presidential primary marked the conclusion of a week-long series of APC primaries in the state, including those for the House of Representatives, Senate, House of Assembly, and governorship positions.
He commended President Tinubu for providing purposeful leadership at the national level and praised the National Chairman of the APC, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, for putting structures in place that ensured the smooth conduct of the exercises nationwide.
The governor also appreciated party leaders, members of the State Working Committee, and elder statesman, Chief Olusegun Osoba, for their support and guidance throughout the process.
Abiodun added that extensive consultations and engagements across the three senatorial districts helped strengthen party cohesion, deepen participation, and give members a stronger sense of belonging.
Expressing confidence ahead of the 2027 elections, the governor said the APC would emerge victorious, noting that President Tinubu’s reforms and policies had laid the foundation for a new Nigeria.
In his home state of Lagos, Tinubu won his polling unit at Ward L2, other units at Ikoyi 11, in Eti-Osa Local Government of the state.
The exercise, which took place at Ireti Primary School, Mekunwen Street, Ikoyi, witnessed a large turnout of party faithful and leaders, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, members of the Local Organising Committee, and returning officers overseeing the primary election.
Speaking shortly after participating in the process, Tinubu stressed the need for unity and cohesion within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
“Reports reaching me from across the party chapters show that the exercise is going on smoothly”, the President said, expressing satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the primaries nationwide.
Electoral Officer, Mrs Martha Adukwu, who supervised the exercise at the ward, described the process as peaceful, transparent and orderly, while applauding party members for their conduct throughout the exercise.
According to Adukwu, two aspirants, including President Tinubu and Chief Stanley Osifo, contested for the APC presidential ticket in the ward.
She noted, however, that only the agent representing President Tinubu was present during the exercise.
RESULTS FROM FCT
In the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the President secured 15,531 votes across the 12 wards of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). The AMAC Returning Officer, Mr Christopher Maikalangu, who announced the collated results on Saturday at the Apo Town Hall, Abuja, described the direct primary exercise as peaceful, transparent and hitch-free.
A breakdown of the results showed that Chika ward recorded the highest turnout with 2,172 votes, closely followed by Karu ward with 1,826 votes, and Orozo ward with 1,706 votes. Other results were Gwarinpa, 1,675; Karuwa, 1,548; Jibi, 1,263; Gudu, 1,060; Nyanya, 1,039; City Centre, 1,001; Gwagwa, 978; Wuse, 976; and Karshi, 447.
Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the primary election, Maikalangu described the exercise as exceptionally smooth, transparent, and constitutionally sound.
“We are all gathered here for our President, Bola Tinubu, and we all voted for him. We don’t have any other candidate. This is the only team we have, and we have done just the way it should be in the Constitution.
“Everything is transparent, so there is no issue here,” Maikalangu said.
