August 01, (THEWILL) — The Tor Tiv, Professor James Iorzuua Ayatse, has stressed the need for Tiv sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to cultivate the habit of saving and effective utilisation of funds for more investment in human capital development and assets to brighten the future of the upcoming generation.
The paramount ruler of the Tiv nation stated this when he received in audience, the Ipusu community, led by its national president, retired Justice Terna Puusu, on an advocacy visit at his Makurdi residence on Thursday.
He assured the Ipusu community of his willingness to collaborate with the Benue State government towards the review of chieftaincy laws to halt marginalisation and accommodate all Tiv inhabitants.
The paramount ruler said he endorsed the establishment of Ipusu branches across the globe as earlier appealed by the national president of the association.
In his presentation, Puusu, who was represented by the Vice president, Dr Saaondo Iorngulum, explained that the visit was to identify with the Tor Tiv and present the vision and mandate of the community to him.
Also, to give an insight into their intention to create Ipusu branches across Benue State and beyond, and hail the Tiv paramount ruler for his policies to reinstate the culture and values of the Tiv nation for the world to know the true genocide attack on the Tiv people by armed militia herders.
In their separate remarks, the chairman of Ipusu Community Organisation Board, Dr Jem Tor Anyiin, and Dr Timothy Utile, both acknowledged the deliberate programme and policies initiated by the Tor Tiv to review the original cultural heritage of the Tiv nation and his complementary role of transforming the state.
