April 29, (THEWILL) — Shareholders of Transcorp Power Plc have approved a final dividend of N4 per ordinary share for the 2025 financial year at the company’s 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on April 27, 2026.
The resolution was confirmed in a filing with the Nigerian Exchange, signed by Company Secretary Atinuke Kolade. Based on 7.5 billion outstanding shares, the final dividend amounts to about N30 billion.
When combined with the N1.50 interim dividend paid in August 2025, total shareholder returns for the year rise to N5.50 per share, representing a 10 percent increase from the previous year’s N5.00.
The payout reflects improved financial performance, as the company recorded a pretax profit of N120 billion in 2025, up from N113.2 billion in 2024.
Revenue also grew significantly to N398.2 billion from N305.9 billion, while retained earnings surged by 68.7 percent to N132.4 billion.
Managing Director and CEO, Peter Ikenga, attributed the growth to enhanced plant efficiency and fuel optimization, which boosted available capacity from 505MW to 625MW.
Energy sales remained the dominant revenue driver, contributing 73.8 percent, while capacity charges accounted for 26 percent.
Despite the strong full-year performance, first-quarter 2026 results showed a slight dip.
Revenue declined to N94.5 billion from N105.4 billion in Q1 2025, while pretax profit fell to N39.5 billion.
At the AGM, shareholders also approved N325 million as remuneration for non-executive directors for the 2026 financial year.
