
December 02, (THEWILL) – Union Bank of Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of Bayo Adeleke, as its new board chairman.
The bank in a statement on Sunday, also announced the appointment of two executive directors and five non-executive directors.
While the two executive directors include Kelechi Nwaoba and Taiwo Shote, the five non-executive directors are Mohammed Balarabe, Chiamaka Ezenwa, Ibrahim Oruma, Oluyinka Morgan and Eileen Shaiyen.
The new board chairman, Adeleke, brings extensive experience in the banking and financial services industry, having held leadership roles at First Bank of Nigeria Limited. His strategic acumen and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in guiding the bank’s next phase of growth and transformation.
Also, the statement added that Balarabe has a distinguished career in corporate banking and regulatory compliance, while Ezenwa has global experience in financial services, particularly in sustainable infrastructure.
The bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs Yetunde Oni, expressed satisfaction with the new appointments, stating that they demonstrate the bank’s commitment to building a robust leadership framework.
The new board members are expected to contribute significantly to the bank’s strategic goals and reinforce its position as a leader in the industry.
Commenting on the financial institution’s recent board reconstitution, Yetunde Oni, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank of Nigeria, expressed satisfaction with the calibre of appointed board members, who will help and guide the Bank in achieving its strategic vision.
