July 2, (THEWILL) — The United States government has launched a coordinated interagency initiative to clamp down on visa fraud and illegal immigration.
In a post shared via its official X handle on Monday, the U.S. Mission in Nigeria warned that individuals caught engaging in visa fraud or harbouring illegal immigrants risk a permanent visa ban and possible criminal prosecution.
“U.S. government interagency efforts combat fraud and will end illegal immigration.
“ Those who commit visa fraud will be banned from the United States for life. A nation without borders is not a nation. We will pursue criminal charges against those who engage in visa fraud and those who bring in and harbor illegal aliens,” the statement read.
The warning comes as the U.S. continues to tighten immigration controls and enforce stricter consequences for violations.
