September 29, (THEWILL) — Nigeria and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation and regional security following a meeting between Vice President Kashim Shettima and U.S. Senior Advisor for Africa, Ambassador Massad Boulos.
Boulos, in a post on X, said discussions focused on improving Nigeria’s business climate, attracting investment, and expanding bilateral trade.
He noted that the U.S. government remains committed to deepening commercial engagement with Nigeria through its Commercial and Investment Partnership.
“American companies play a major role in Nigeria’s economy, and the U.S. government is committed to expanding trade through our Commercial and Investment Partnership,” Boulos stated.
Talks also underscored Nigeria’s pivotal role in advancing regional security, with both sides emphasizing counterterrorism cooperation and efforts to promote stability in the Sahel.
The renewed partnership is expected to boost investor confidence, strengthen Nigeria’s position as a regional leader, and enhance bilateral collaboration on economic growth and security
