October 18, (THEWILL) – Armed men suspected to be bandits have kidnapoed Alhaji Bishir Gide Banye, the village head of Banye in the Charanchi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Banye was abducted alongside a secondary school student.
A resident of the town said the gunmen invaded the town on Friday night and went straight to the palace of the village head.
He said, the shutdown of telecommunication in the area gave the attackers the opportunity to operate unchallenged as residents could not alert security men.
This is the second abduction of a village head in the area, after the attack on the village head of Barkiya town.
