February 10, (THEWILL) – The Plateau State gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Dr. Patrick Dakum, has pointed out that an all-knowing mentality and refusal to listen to advice from elders and stakeholders are responsible for the failure of Simon Lalong’s administration.

Addressing journalists at the NUJ Press Centre in Jos, on Friday, Dr. Dakum said Lalong closed his ears to wise counsel and refused to carry everyone along in providing content and direction for his administration.

Dakum also disclosed that Lalong’s leadership style is so bad that a chunk of his cabinet members are disillusioned and disgruntled, and are concluding plans to exit the APC.

If voted into power, Dakum said in line with the family centrepiece policy of the Labour Party, he will operate with listening ears and establish an Elders Consultative Council as an observatory and residue for action and policy direction.

Speaking further, he said the vulnerable in the society – women, physically challenged, aged, and children will receive priority attention, especially in terms of empowerment and sundry benefits that will carry them along and give them a sense of belonging.

Dakum said in line with the Human Development Index (HDI), his LP government will harness the abundance of the environment to aggregate a development atmosphere that will not only attract high capital inflow through direct foreign investment but provide enough economic activity chain to engage the productive population.

Plateau State, he said, can leverage its agricultural, tourism, and mining advantages to drive its economic development and aspirations.

Dakum, therefore, used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to vote en masse for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, noting that Nigeria is about to experience a prosperous and refreshing dawn with the LP presidential candidate, just as Plateau State will experience recovery in terms of development and self-fulfilment.
